Construction of the Economic Freedom Ratings of the Provinces
and Supporting Data
The following is a technical section that lists the
components and data underlying the index of provincial economic freedom. Readers not
interested in these more technical details may wish to skip this section. A written
analysis of the results of this study on a province-by-province basis begins on page 41. A
graphical overview (figures 4, 5, 6) of the economic freedom ratings for the provinces
over the measurement period can be found on pages 38 to 40.
