Welcome! We are pleased to bring you summer reading in this June/July issue of Canadian Student Review, sponsored by the Lotte and John Hecht Memorial Foundation. This edition contains articles written by students like you on topics such as health care, trade, the environment, and welfare. If you have a little free time this summer, why not submit an article of your own? Explore a philosophical or economic subject that interests you, analyze suggested policy reforms, review a book, or relate your opinion on a controversial topic. We look forward to receiving your submissions! In addition to our regular features in this issue, we’ve included a list of Internet resources that may appeal to you. While you’re at it, check out The Fraser Institute’s web site at www.fraserinstitute.ca. Did you know that all Fraser Institute publications dating back to 1991 are on line? You may find this useful while doing research for school, or merely for your personal interest. Have a great summer! Congratulations!Congratulations to the Canadian winners of the Institute for Humane Studies’ 1998 Felix Morley Journalism Competition.
This annual competition is held in honour of Felix Morley, the Washington Post editor from 1933 to 1940 and Pulitzer Prize winner, whose work emphasized private property, voluntarism, and a non-interventionist foreign policy. For more information on this annual competition, visit the IHS website at www.TheIHS.org.
