Welcome! You may notice a theme of "economic freedom" running through this issue of Canadian Student Review, and that is because we are pleased to bring you two of the three winning essays from this year’s Student Essay Contest. You will also find in this issue your favourite regular features, including The Fraser Institute New Releases and the Bulletin Board, which highlights the 1999-2000 Student Seminars on Public Policy Issues, and for which the schedule has just been announced. We look forward to receiving written submissions from students across the country. If you have a favourite economic or public policy topic that you would like to write about, we would love to hear from you. We would like to thank the Lotte and John Hecht Foundation for their sponsorship of this newsletter.
