About the Authors

Mebs Kanji is currently a Ph.D. student in the Political Science Department at the University of Calgary. His research interests are focused chiefly on public opinion studies and election studies. His dissertation, "The Changing Canadian Electorate," is a detailed analysis of 30 years of the Canadian Election Studies.

Barry Cooper is Professor of Political Science at the University of Calgary and Senior Fellow at the Fraser Institute. He has published extensively in the area of political philosophy and Canadian public policy, most recently, with Sylvia LeRoy, Off Limits: How Radical Environmentalists are Shutting Down Canada's National Parks, a Fraser Institute Public Policy Source, number 45. He has received the Konrad Adenauer Award from the Alexander von Humbolt Stiftung and a Killam Research Fellowship. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada.
